Dining Options
Outside food is not allowed on Museum grounds, except to accommodate food allergies/intolerances or religious restrictions. There is a small public picnic area just outside the Museum's entrance. Dining options at the Museum are as follows:
Boxed Lunch — $25 to include chips & a cookie
You may choose to pre-order a boxed lunch (choice of sandwich/salad) when you register for Monsoon Con. Boxed lunches will be available for pick up during the lunch hour in the Green Room of the Baldwin Education Building, just a few steps across Taylor Plaza from the Warden Oasis Theater. There will be round tables set up in the Green Room (sponsored by Bolt Hunter) to seat up to 120 people, and you can also eat outside at the tables in Taylor Plaza (total seating 16).
Boxed Lunch Choices
- Honey-cured Ham & Provolone Sandwich
- Italian-style Grinder on Baguette (ham, pepperoni, salami, provolone, peppers, lettuce, & tomato (with vinaigrette)
- Sonoran Chopped Salad (mixed greens, pico de gallo, cucumber, white corn & black beans, cotija cheese, tortilla strips, & grilled chicken breast with chipotle ranch) — can be prepared gluten-free
If you need to change your selected choice after pre-ordering, you may do so by contacting us before June 4th.
If you have not pre-ordered a boxed lunch, you may choose to visit the Ironwood Terraces restaurant, buy lunch "to-go" from their regular menu, and bring it back up to the Green Room to eat with your friends.
(Note: Due to the Museum's contract with the restaurant, outside food may not be brought in and consumed in the Green Room.)
Prickly pear lemonade, iced tea, orange punch, and infused water will also be available in the Green Room for all Monsoon Con attendees.
Other On-site Food Outlets
- Phoebe's Coffee Bar offers hot and cold drinks, pastries, sandwiches, ice cream, and other snacks, and is open from 7:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.
- Ironwood Terraces offers a grill menu, including children's items, sandwiches, and other snacks, in a casual multi-station food court setting, and is open from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
- Ocotillo Café offers a sit down full service dining experience that focuses on locally sourced ingredients to create regional southwest cuisine (view PDF menu) , and is open from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Off-site Options
The nearest dining options outside the Museum are in Tucson Estates (about 12 minutes southeast), or Picture Rocks (about 13 minutes northwest).
