About Monsoon Con

Monsoon Con brings together photographers, storm chasers, meteorologists, and weather enthusiasts from across the Southwest for a full day of learning, connection, and preparation ahead of the summer monsoon season.

What brings them together is a shared goal: to better understand the monsoon and to improve their ability to safely and creatively capture it in the field.

For nearly a decade, Monsoon Con has served as the region’s central gathering focused specifically on storm photography and monsoon chasing. It remains the only conference in the Southwest dedicated to this unique intersection of weather science, forecasting, and field-based photography.

Monsoon Con is designed to be practical, approachable, and community-driven. Presentations focus on forecasting strategy, storm structure, field technique, photography workflow, and lessons learned from real experiences across the Southwest. Just as importantly, the event creates space for conversations between people who spend their summers watching the sky from back roads, desert overlooks, and mountain horizons.

Held just ahead of peak monsoon season, Monsoon Con helps participants step into the summer better prepared, better connected, and ready to make the most of the storms ahead.
